crazyfurries: (plush bug)
Everything goddamn thing about this entire house cleaning has gone out of my reach. I can't get Martin to save things for me, the aunts were barely able to do that, and I've lost several items I wanted into the dumpster. This weekend my two sane maternal aunts came to spend the weekend sorting out Mom's craft room. As I've moved into a new place(and still moving/sorting stuff in!), I wasn't around much and missed out on the antique cigarboxes and silk flosses that Mom had stored. My housemates had kittens over the metal being tossed away as well, one of them being a very prolific scrapmetal collector (she earns a good chunk of change on it).

Thanks to two days prior of heavy lifting, packing and moving of a GREAT many items, I've been getting even worse sleep and less rest. After coming back from the last load, we started preparing and cleaning the house up for our own wee lil pagan shindig. Erycka (House-mate) got to raid my fabric bins for altar cloth materials while Kelly (friend from pagan group, and a certified physical massage therapist) offered to give me a backrub. Now I was sore as shit, chalking it up to well...everything this summer, but Kelly has threatened me with sedation if I don't take the next few days a bit easier on the heavy lifting.

Mabon twas grand and well and celebrated with my housemate with our own small outdoor altar after we'd spent the morning packing more into the house. Since it was also the birthday of one of her friends, he came over to spent the night in the backyard and work on his meditations and trancework while we built up a bonfire. I got to make Mabon cookies (House-mate's name for them, not mine) and a harvest curry stew that everyone loved, while they chatted it up outside. Later on Andy (friend of Erycka) tranced himself out and began playing on some of the wooden flutes he'd brought with him. It was eerie and calming hearing him play by the roaring bonfire, and not long after that, I decided to get the leftover fireworks from my car. Kelly ended up begging me to put the metal sparklers aside for her to play with, but we had a lot of fun with the flashers and smoke bombs. When it was dark enough out, I lit up the bamboo sparklers and just started dancing to the music in my headphones, spinning around.
