Acute words (that is, words where the stress is in the last syllabe) are given graphic accent (that is, the mark ? over the vowels) when they end in a vowel or the consonant n or s. Grave words (where the stress is in the last but one syllabe) are the other way around.
Also, monosyllabic words aren't given graphic accent, except in some special cases, for example, the pronoun "te" (accusative form of "you") versus the noun "t?" (tea).
