Food experiments: Bento Version
Jul. 11th, 2008 01:58 amAlright, I haven't updated this enough, but friends who know me on AIM and the comms I hit up, know I've gotten into making bento lunches for myself. And so far?
7 POUNDS. =D I've lost seven freaking pounds in the last month and a half eating packed and portioned lunches for dinner and lunch. (with odd veggie snackins).
One thing I've really gotten addicted to is tea eggs.
So as a favor to my fellow tea fanatics, I'm going to start posting up a list of teas that pass muster to make Quick-version tea-eggs with.
Quick version tea-eggs:
Hard boil some eggs, large, small, brown, white, it don't matter just hardboil the suckers and crack their shells during the last minute. Boil tea as directed on the packet. When eggs are done boiling, shuck em out of their shells and into a glass heat-safe jar with a lid. Pour hot tea over the eggs and let em sit for at least a day.
I've found herby-tasting teas taste like frikkin ass to me. Fruit teas are awesome (have yet to try puer eh. ...I like the fruit teas more!)
Teas that pass!
Rishi's Wild Berry Black loose tea
Trader Joe's Mango Black tea
Sinceratea herbal tea Ruby Tang herbal loose tea
Sinceratea herbal tea Very Berry herbal loose tea
Teas that have flunked
Random Polish Strawberry black tea 3 days of soaking and the egg barely tastes of strawberries and more of icky black tea-tar. =P
Bigelow's Vanilla almond tea (...words do not express the nasty here.)
Rishi's White tea rose melange loose tea (love to drink it, but it does NOT make a good tea-egg soak)
