If you have the patience, keep pointing out for the things she hasn't used/worn in a year, that someone else can get use out of it- and then toss it in the Goodwill (or whatever equivalent) pile.

And then promise yourself a drink after each time.

I have promised myself one treat for each time she has asked 'whose is this?' about some random tiny piece of something not-related to the big cleaning event in general.

I owe myself 2 dozen cookies.

Piece of advice I picked up from a cleaning book: Anything you haven't worn in a year, you put into a box. Then you tape it closed and leave it for a month. After the month is up, you take the box, unopened, to the charity organization of your choice.
