Repairing holes in jeans, if you count putting a patch on, which I hope you do~ I can do a degree of clothing alteration, but nothing terribly complicated, so I didn't check that.
My mother taught me to do all of these. I suspect she would have taught me more if I showed more of an inclination to do them. As it was, I wanted to learn enough sewing to make doll clothes and the occasional costume, and to mend minor rips and tears without having to yell MOOOOOOM PLEASE FIX MY ____.
She taught me to cook as well, but I also taught myself more after leaving home, by way of recipes and experimentation. I also learned a few tricks by watching chefs in restaurants where we could see them cooking (learned how to do omelets by watching a chef at a brunch, the surprised my mother the next day by duplicating the trick).
The repairing holes and seams must both be qualified with "more or less, but it won't exactly be a professional job." I'm not sure there was a precise where or when; my mom taught me to use the sewing machine over the years, and she probably introduced me to a needle and thread as well, although I might have figured it out myself. Needle goes in, needle comes out. It's not that complicated.
